As you get older you become more sentimental, so I guess this site is my way of logging some of my understanding of the Chicago Web Design Industry as it has appeared to me over the last 12 years.

In a few short years it will be nearly impossible to find anyone working in the industry that remembers hit counters, the reassuring voice saying "You've Got Mail," marchFirst, GoTo.com, Infoseek and 14.4 modems! ha ha ha

Some firms have been around forever, and they have earned their place at the top of these lists. Others have emerged only recently, but it is exciting to see new generations of internet entreprenuers throwing their hat in the ring. There is never a dull moment. Some of the most promising players of the 90s and 00s have come and gone, reminding us that we are in an industry that changes extremely fast. Some unlikely folks have thrived, reminding us also that we are in an industry that faces lower barriers to entry than almost any other...and lower every day!
